A hot victory for the Silverbacks travelling an hour away to Buckingham II's in 30+ degree heat.
Silverbacks started well establishing dominance in the first half. An out of position Faringdon side set the tone of the game for the opposition picking up early points from a Penalty slotted through the sticks by Tom Bartlett.
The water breaks and shade must have helped as tries started to roll in with the Silverbacks with Ryan Cox and Tom Morgan dotting the ball down. It was not an easy afternoon affair and a strong defensive performance was marred by the heat grinding out some big hits to stop a Buckingham attack which materialised in a hosts try with no follow up conversion.
More water on, commencement of the second half triggered a different game plan for the silverbacks with failed drop goals (? ) and aerial bombs being put up for wingers to latch on to. A quick break on the wing and some superb lines got Luke over the line for a third and a short offload to Scotty 'One Shoulder' Cocks allowed him to barrel through Buckinghams defence to notch up another try.
Less heat with a similar performance and the scoreline may well have ran a bit further
MOTM performance for TJ (As Per Usual)
DOTD had multiple honourable mentions with the main offenders scuttling off prior to the presentation. Ryan Cox valiantly stepped up to face his punishment.
Also a huge shout out to Freddie De-Bank for his senior debut! A hell of a shift at 8!
Glad for a week off - fingers crossed for some rain and a cooler contest for our next away fixture in 2 weeks to Aylesbury.
